Short bio of the speaker
Roland is a malware analyst whose journey into security started with game hacking before eventually turning into a professional career in malware research.
He believes that the game hacking scene is one step ahead of the malware industry, which makes it a great place to get inspiration from. Since then, he has worked at an antivirus company creating generic detections and now he works with sandboxing and emulation technologies focusing on dynamic analysis, reverse engineering, file parsing and all kinds of weird edge cases that appear around malware.
His interests are a bit of everything: malicious scripts, obscure file formats, malware internals, automation, AI agent-based tooling and generally breaking things apart to understand how they work.
Experienced in both high and low-level languages – C/C++, Python, IoT development and a bit of C#, TypeScript.
