Mark studied computer science and information security at the Budapest University of Technology and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. After university he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Information Technology in Germany, participating in research on usable and secure ubiquitous computing. He received his PhD from RWTH Aachen University, his dissertation being on usable security development methods. He joined LogMeIn in 2014 as application security engineer.
During his past years Mark worked on contactless authentication and payment methods – including protocols, system designs, and business models. He is an evangelist on considering the human factor in security related interactions and believes that end users and developers alike need to be more involved into the design of secure systems. Besides these activities he supports development teams in their SDLC efforts, extensively working with various products and their developers on threat modeling.
