HackShack

On Friday you can visit the so-called HackShack, where the team of HackerSpace Budapest and HackSpace Szeged will provide a software & hardware hacking and lockpicking light workshop alongside with SecureITeam, the organizer of Hacktivity Foreplay Wargame.

Hacktivity Foreplay Wargame is back!

The world-renowned Hacktivity Foreplay Wargame, a CTF competition organized by the IT Security student group SecurITeam from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics is going to be held during the Hacktivity Conference! The students from the famous Schönherz Dormitory have prepared crackmes, vulnerable web applications and binaries to reverse for both beginners and pros this year, including both legacy and new, emerging technologies that you might find in the wild. Visit them in the HackShack and HackCenter during the conference for more details!

HackCenter

On Saturday Security Dome is going to transform into a so-called HackCenter which is going to be the heaven for hackers who want to solve some exciting challenges, share their thoughts with each other, looking for a solution to a specified problem, or just have questions about a certain topic. There will be also 5-10 minutes pop-up talks where hackers can present their ideas or try their presentation skills. Do you have a topic or an idea that’s not fully developed? Bring it in and we’ll help you work it out! Maybe you can finalize and present it at the next BSidesBUD conference in March 2018. Send an e-mail to hackcenter@hacktivity.com to get on the schedule!

Wall of sheep @ Hacktivity

Our whole life depends on trust. We trust that whenever we go outside, noone attacks us. We trust in online financial services that our money is safe. We trust our Internet Service Provider that they do not abuse the information they have about us. But we rarely think about that whenever we connect to any network we trust someone we don’t even know. The goal of the Wall of Sheep is to demonstrate how much data we leak about ourselves (passwords, session cookies, smartphone unique IDs) without even knowing about this. Many people trust their VPN provider better than the network they connect to. But shall we trust these VPN providers? Shall we trust the Internet Service Provider of our VPN provider? The only option is to use end-to-end encryption based communications like TLS (formerly SSL).

Twitter

If you do not have a Twitter account, make sure to have one and follow @hacktivityconf as it will be the official communications channel during the two days of the conference. If you mention us in a tweet don’t forget to use the official hashtag: #Hacktivity2017.

Party

Stay at the venue after the last presentation on Friday and chill with fellow hackers! Use your beer coupon to refresh yourself (you will find them in your welcome package), our DJ will take care of the good mood. If you like spirits, you can have free pálinka shots at the Black Cell stand (while stock lasts). The Hacktivity Party will take place on the Ground floor starting at 17:30 and ending at midnight in order to make sure that everybody can make it to the early start on Saturday. ;) Have fun and drink responsibly!

Volunteers

If you have any question concerning the program or the stands/venues of the conference, you’ll just have to ask the guys in orange Hacktivity polo shirt. They are our volunteers who will gladly help you.

Don't forget that you'll be able to gain CPE credits by ISACA for attending the conference! At the exhibition area (on the First floor) you can also meet Team Rescube, which is the first and only hungarian RoboCup Rescue League contender, that finished at the 9th place in Rescue League, and also won the RoboCup Design Award and Best Outdoor CarryBot Award at the RoboCup WorldCup 2017 in Leipzig. The team members are engineers and engineering students who joined their efforts to solve the challenges a Search & Rescue robot has to cope with. They will bring their latest robot, that has depth, rgb & thermal vision, CO2 sensor, LIDAR, DGPS and a 6 DoF arm, all custom made to handle the terrain and the dexterity tasks at the competition.

We hope that you’ll have a good time and #HACKTIVITY2017 will be a great experience for you again!

See you all tomorrow!
